Xiaomi teaches Apple, Huawei, and Samsung the fear
Xiaomi smartphones promise top equipment at a moderate price. The rapidly growing electronics giant has now launched its new flagship in China. Technically, it keeps up with the brand new Samsung devices – but clearly undercuts their price.
Xiaomi introduced its new flagships in China: the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Xiaomi only presented the Mi Note 10 in November 2019. The device scored particularly well with its camera and an affordable price. There is the test for the device here,
The new devices should also convince with their technology – such as cameras and 5G capabilities. The numbers show: In many respects, Xiaomi’s devices are similar to Samsung’s new Galaxy S20 – at a significantly lower price (see comparison table at the end of the article).
Xiaomi relies on 5G and a quad camera with 108 megapixels
Similar to the new ones Galaxy S20 devices Xiaomi uses the new 5G cellular standard for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. In addition, the smartphones come with Wi-Fi 6. This allows significantly faster download speeds than with Wi-Fi 5.

In contrast to the predecessor Mi 9, the new Xiaomi flagships come with four instead of three camera lenses. This enables, for example, a strong zoom (10x magnification) and ultra wide-angle shots. The main sensor has a resolution of 108 megapixels, just like the Mi Note 10 – and also the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. Thanks to the latest technology and AI support, the camera should deliver better pictures. The photos show that this is not an empty promise.
In the photo test by the camera experts from DXOMark, Xiaomi left all the competition behind,

The experts write:

Large display with 90 Hertz
At 6.67 inches, the displays are slightly larger than those of the Mi 9 (6.39). The screens have a refresh rate of 90 Hertz. The Galaxy S20 manages 120 Hertz. More hate means that the screens can display content more fluently, for example when playing. The front camera is hidden in a hole instead of a notch on the screen. A novelty in Xiaomi devices.
More RAM and better processor
Both the Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro start at eight gigabytes (GB). For example, with more memory, smartphones can run more apps. Eight gigabytes should be enough for everyday users. The Galaxy S20 also starts at eight GB.
A current Snapdragon 865 is installed as a processor, which should have enough power for games and everyday apps. In terms of numbers, the processor is even slightly faster than Samsung’s Enyx processor (see the following table). Android 10 is installed as the operating system, whereby Xiaomi has put its own user interface MIUI 11 on the system.
Large battery, but no memory expansion
The 4,500 mAh battery is the same size as the Galaxy S20 +. The battery in the Mi 10 is slightly larger at 4,870 mAh, but charges more slowly than in the Pro model. In both cases, the battery should last for at least one day with normal use.
The internal memory starts at 256 gigabytes (GB), the Mi 10 Pro also offers a variant with 512 GB. In contrast to the Galaxy 20, the memory cannot be expanded with a microSD card. Users also have to do without a jack connection and an FM radio function for the new Mi flagships.
European start postponed
Converted the new Mi flagships start at around 558 francs. This is significantly cheaper than the new Samsung devices. However, the actual prices in Europe are unknown. Usually, however, these are slightly above the Chinese prices. In addition, the technical data for European devices may differ slightly.
Xiaomi has also been silent on the release date in Europe. The company originally wanted to present its new devices on February 23, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Because of the Corona virus it was canceled.
In the course of this, Xiaomi has postponed the date for the global product launch, Xiaomi writes in a press release. “We will organize a separate launch event in Europe at a later date,” the company writes. “There we will share information from the Mi-10 series and other incredible products.”
