Metro and Cable Car will not ride passengers without vaccination cards from this Monday

The Office for the Reordering of Transport (Opret) announced this Sunday night that as of Monday 18 it will be necessary for users of the Metro and Cable Car of Santo Domingo present your COVID-19 vaccination card or a negative PCR test for the disease in order to use the service.

In a statement, the entity explained that it took the measure in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Public Health through resolution number 000048.

The card may be presented in physical or digital format.

He said that the presentation of the vaccination card or the PRC test only applies to people over 12 years old.

Likewise, the rules on the use of masks and physical distancing within the facilities of the transport systems are still in force.

Opret asked users to understand the measure.

This Sunday, like Friday and Saturday, the vaccination centers were crowded, because the Public Health resolution orders that whoever does not present their vaccination card against COVID-19 will not be able to go to public establishments, schools or use the public transport.

A part of merchants has announced that they accept the measure, as well as the banks. State institutions announced that they will not accept employees without vaccination or a negative weekly PCR test.

Appeals against the resolution

Two entities have filed appeals for amparos in the Superior Administrative Court (TSA) against the Public Health resolution. Some sectors support it, while others reject it. This Monday, the court will hear the instances.
