Messi is in 66% of Argentina’s World Cup goals

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Great role Lionel Messi for Argentina World Cup 2022 seen through his contribution to the Albiceleste goal.

Ever since the group stage, Messi has been seen carrying a heavy burden as Argentina’s goal machine and game engine. On Argentina’s journey to the semi-final, Messi showed he can play this role well.

Messi scored four goals and two assists for Argentina at the 2022 World Cup. This number means that Messi contributed to six of Argentina’s nine goals, or 66%.

In the match between Argentina and the Netherlands, Messi clearly showed his role as an engine of the game as well as a goal machine. Messi provided a brilliant assist for the first goal scored by Nahuel Molina.

Next, it was Messi’s turn to score against the Dutch goal with a second-half penalty.

Hopefully, Messi’s great role will be seen again in the match between Argentina and Croatia. Even if Messi will be the main foe that Vatreni’s defensive line is wary of, Argentine fans will continue to pin their greatest hopes on Messi’s back to dismantle the Croatian defence.

The match between Argentina and Croatia will take place on Wednesday (14/12) in the morning WIB. Argentina will try to hunt down their third trophy in World Cup history, while Croatia will try to reach the World Cup final for the second time.
