New equipment was purchased for the money invested, which allows both to increase production capacity and to ensure safe and modern packaging.

Laila Vārtukapteine, Commercial Director of SIA “Elvi Latvija”, says: “We have reviewed the range of” Elvi “culinary and confectionery products, developing new food lines and improving production technologies.”

By developing the production capacity, new product packaging lines have been installed in the culinary factory, the confectionery production process has been improved – a pastry filling line, fermenters, a cold room have been installed to facilitate the product logistics process without affecting their quality.

“For the production of quality products, it is very important to choose the best quality raw materials and make goods without unnecessary additives by hand. Modern technologies allow products to be prepared at home, while maintaining good quality for a long time, without artificial food additives, stabilizers and preservatives. Innovative packaging equipment “Restricts air access to products, and customers can be sure that pre – packaged foods are not exposed to environmental irritants and micro – organisms after production – this aspect was especially important during the spread of covidium,” explains Vārtukapteine.

She informs that in the first quarter of 2022, the demand for “Elvi” culinary and confectionery products has significantly increased compared to 2021. The demand for salads was 142% higher this year than last year, soups and lunch sets were purchased 211% more, while sales of confectionery products increased fivefold.

“These data confirm the need for quality, modern ready meals,” summarizes Vārtukapteine.
