The heart of the plug-in hybrid drive is a two-liter M 254 four-cylinder petrol engine with a maximum output of 150 kW and 320 newtonmeters of torque. The combustion unit is further seconded by an electric motor with a power of 95 kW and a twist of 440 newton meters. The car thus boasts a system power of 230 kW and a torque of up to 550 Nm. The sedan starts at 245 km / h, the station wagon can be 5 km / h less. There are “céčky” on the hundred in 6.1 and 6.2 seconds, respectively.

The high-voltage battery does not create a new step in the luggage compartment floor and with a capacity of 25.4 kWh it can handle over 100 kilometers on a single charge. Mercedes specifically talks about 99-111 km for a sedan and 95-107 km for a station wagon. In addition to an AC charger with an output of up to 11 kW, you can pay extra for fast charging with an output of up to 55 kW, which is definitely not common in the case of plug-in hybrids. Thanks to this, you can fully charge the car in 30 minutes.

Mercedes also emphasizes the recuperation power of over 100 kW, which recovers kinetic energy when decelerating or driving downhill. The multimedia system takes into account navigation, route topography, speed limits and other factors, according to which it decides where the use of pure electric driving is most meaningful. The possibilities of class C to the socket do not end there either. Later, the offer will be further expanded by a plug-in hybrid combined with a turbodiesel.
