Dr. Mann Abdul-Maqsoud, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment at the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Rania Zakaria, Director General of the General Administration of Hospital Affairs, inaugurated two new addiction treatment departments at Helwan Hospital, which specializes in treating adolescents, in continuation of the role played by the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment In providing integrated treatment services to all segments of society.

The Secretary-General of Mental Health Hospitals said that the first section is dedicated to girls and provides an integrated service for female addiction patients with a bed capacity of 24 beds, including cases of psychological disorders resulting from abuse, and this section is the first of its kind to provide an integrated addiction treatment service for adolescent girls, and the second section Specializes in treating dual diagnoses in adolescents (psychiatric disorders associated with addiction) with a bed capacity of 24 beds, and a specialization in adolescent addiction rehabilitation has been developed.

Dr. Raghda Al-Gamil, Director of Addiction Treatment at Al-Amana, said that the opening of these departments comes within the plan to develop services and treatment programs provided by the secretariat to the adolescent group, as the treatment program for this category was developed according to the latest treatment programs and guidelines for treating addiction in adolescents, and the team was trained Medical treatment of doctors and nurses on this program in preparation for the opening of new departments.
