In hospital, out of hospital: sisters Clara (3) and Myrthe (2) Vandierendonck both have an immune disorder. There is always someone sick. Every cold becomes pneumonia, every flu a hospitalization. Clara also has a rare syndrome that hinders her development. “Without therapy, Clara would stand still,” says mom Melanie Clemens. “But the bills keep coming in, while we are on waiting lists for extra budget.”
