Meghan Markle’s lawyers: Earn £ 1 billion in tourism revenue

When actor Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of the United Kingdom got married on May 19, 2018, it cost taxpayers in the country £ 30 million. The total price tag was £ 32 million, according to The Daily Mail.

This corresponds to approximately NOK 355 million.

Markle’s lawyers say that “all expenses paid for by the public went solely to security measures and crowd control, according to Thames Valley Police and Metropolitan Police’s assessments,” according to Page Six.

The lawyers also point out that the wedding generated one billion pounds, almost NOK 12 billion, in tourist revenue.

The Daily Mail’s own investigation found that this figure was far lower, at £ 300 million.

The reason for the statements is that Markle has sued The Daily Mail for publishing excerpts from private letter exchanges she has had with her father, Thomas Markle.
