Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) United States of America Antony Blinken and the Minister of Foreign Affairs China Wang Yi voiced hope of working together when they opened a rare conversation in Bali, Indonesia on Saturday (9/7).
“In a complex and consequential relationship such as the relationship between United States of America and China, there’s a lot to talk about,” Blinken said as he and Wang posed in front of US and Chinese flags at a resort hotel on the island of Bali.
“We look forward to having a productive and constructive conversation,” Blinken said AFPSaturday (9/7/2022).

Wang said President Xi Jinping believes in cooperation and “mutual respect” between the world’s two largest economic powers.
“China and the United States are two big countries, so the two countries need to maintain normal contact,” Wang said.
“At the same time, we need to work together to ensure that this relationship will continue to move forward on the right track,” he said.
The meeting between the two, who were in Bali for a meeting of the Foreign Ministers G20is the first since October last year.
