Anies Baswedan will meet with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the afternoon. Anies was about to say goodbye after he finished serving as governor of DKI Jakarta.
“Exactly, this is the request of Mr. Anies who wants to end up as governor of the DKI”, said on Friday (21/10/2022) the Staff of the Secretary of State Faldo Maldini.
Information about the meeting between Anies and Jokowi was previously disclosed by party politician NasDem Bestari Barus. Bestari said Anies would report his successes while he was in Jakarta in Jokowi.

“God willing (Anies meets Jokowi),” Party politician NasDem Bestari Barus told reporters.
The meeting, Bestari said, was a meeting Anies and Jokowi. However, the location of the meeting between Anies and Jokowi this afternoon is not yet known.
“Regards, we have finished our duties as governor. At the same time, we will certainly report on the achievements in development during our tenure,” he said.
“On the possibility of a seat in the Palace,” he added.
Anies NasDem presidential candidate
The NasDem party had previously officially announced its presidential candidate which will be presented in 2024. NasDem has decided to bring Anies Baswedan is running for president for the 2024 elections.
The announcement was made directly by the president of the NasDem party, Surya Paloh at the NasDem Tower, Central Jakarta, on Monday (3/10). Anies Baswedan, who at the time was still governor of the DKI, was present at the declaration of the presidential candidate of the NasDem.
