Mazda unveils delicious RX-Vision GT3 Concept

The Mazda RX-Vision introduced to the world in 2015 has a sporty brother: the Japanese brand has unveiled a GT3 version of the stunning coupe, which allows digital racing from today.

Mazda managed to bring a car with a Wankel engine to the market in 1967, after which it won the 787B with the special concept in 1991 in the 24 hours of Le Mans. In 2015, the Japanese car brand showed the Mazda RX-Vision to the public at the Tokyo Motor Show as a prelude to a new sports car with a Wankel engine.

Although Mazda received much praise for the stunning coupe, the car was not followed up on. In the digital world, the model is now being revived with the RX-Vision GT3 Concept: a lightning-fast GT3 racer, naturally powered by a shaky engine of Mazda’s new SKYACTIV-R concept.

Mazda celebrates 100th anniversary

The GT3 racer unfortunately only exists on a screen in the popular Gran Turismo game. Mazda is celebrating its 100th anniversary and also wants to show what the brand is capable of when the RX-Vision is transformed into a GT3 racer.

The RX-Vision GT3 is of course equipped with a huge rear wing and well-developed wheel arches. The splitter, the striking gills behind the wheels and the diffuser at the rear also contribute to the ‘racy’ look of the digital GT3 concept. The makers have equipped the car with a power of 570 hp on the rear wheels. More than enough to drive the 1250 kg of weight over the track in a decent lap time.

The Mazda GT3 can unfortunately only be played in Gran Turismo Sport. Fans who do not have the game for the Playstation in house will have to do with the pictures below, which is certainly not a punishment …
