Mathieu van der Poel jokes: “Those white pants, that’s what I do it for”

Mathieu van der Poel was also an hour and a half after his Dutch title Cycling Flash still to speak. The brand new champion of Alpecin-Fenix is happy that he can race in red, white and blue again after a year. “And especially white pants, that’s what we do it for,” he joked.

Coming Wednesday, Van der Poel will lead the Dutch team at the European Cycling Championships in Plouay, where he will find a course tailored to his needs. “We start to win.
