A hockey match scheduled for September 19 between Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Dynamo Minsk has been canceled, according to a statement on website Continental Hockey League (KHL). The day before, upon arrival in Sochi, 11 hockey players and one Lokomotiv employee were diagnosed with coronavirus to play with the club of the same name. Because of this, the KHL match was canceled.
“For the safety of all participants in the competition, the team was evacuated to Yaroslavl and tested upon arrival. Initial test results are negative, but nine players continue to develop symptoms. In this regard, the KHL championship match Sochi – Lokomotiv has been postponed to a later date. The match with Dinamo Minsk, which was supposed to take place on September 19, has also been postponed, as there is not enough time to select reserve players and submit documents to cross the border, ”the statement said.
On Sunday, September 20, all players of the main and reserve teams of Lokomotiv will undergo in-depth testing. The match against HC Kunlun, scheduled for September 21, has not yet been postponed.
