Mask from 3 years “whenever possible” | Radio Galicia

The use of a mask, the importance of the ventilation of the spaces and the groups of stable coexistence, will be fundamental aspects in the review that the Xunta plans for the action protocol against COVID-19 for the next academic year and that is “in line” with the measures agreed on Thursday between the central government and the autonomous communities.

One of the novelties is that the Galician Government intends to go beyond the use of a mask in educational centers. In addition to being compulsory for all students over six years of age, which has also been established in the minimum agreement reached within the State sector conference, the councilor for Health, Jesús Vázquez Almuiña, has advanced that The Xunta wants to “expand” this aspect in the regional protocol for the range from 3 to 6, at least “whenever possible”.

The argument put forward is in the consideration of the mask as the “greatest protection” to stop the spread of the virus and Almuiña himself has argued that this protection should be recommended and facilitated to children as far as possible.

This has been transferred this Thursday, together with the Minister of Education, University and Professional Training, Carmen Pomar, after participating in the sectoral conference with the ministers Isabel Celaá and Salvador Illa, in which a minimum agreement has been reached between the autonomous communities to establish shared measures and a basic protocol for the school year.

A meeting that “is late” and “a few days after starting the course”, has criticized, but what do I consider “very positive” to be able to reach a consensus among the majority of autonomous governments. “It is time to establish agreements, convergence and not to break and create controversies and discussions that cause little operation, little functionality and much confusion in the educational community.”
