Although Maryem d’Abo did not become a Hollywood superstar, she is well-known among Bond enthusiasts for her portrayal of a Czechoslovak cellist who falls in love with Agent 007. Her memorable scene with Timothy Dalton, where they ski down a snowy hill in a cello case, is etched in the minds of Bond fans. She even graced the cover of Playboy magazine in the past.
At the press conference, the 62-year-old actress looked stunning and answered questions patiently, even those posed in broken English. She also posed next to one of the Aston Martin cars featured in the Bond films, which will be on display at the exhibition.
Maryem d’Abo has faced a challenging period recently, as her husband, director Hugh Hudson, passed away in February. Despite this, she remains resilient and continues to make appearances in the entertainment industry.
The press conference was hosted by British Ambassador Matt Field, who expressed his belief that James Bond is an integral part of British identity. The exhibition was brought to the Czech Republic from Belgium by real estate magnate Serge Borenstein, who has made Prague his home for several years. Borenstein, a long-time Bond fan, expressed his excitement about showcasing this grand project in the city. The exhibition will also feature a two-story 007 bar within the exhibition grounds.
