Therefore, the time was deleted, and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc gets the best starting position in Sunday’s Grand Prix race in Austin. Verstappen finished in the sixth best starting slot.

Before that, Max Verstappen had raced against teammate Sergio Pérez. This year’s world champion believed that the Mexican hindered him in the final turn. Verstappen gave this sarcastically on the team radio – of course without mentioning the name:

– Well ******** done there. What the **** was that in the last corner?!

Max Verstappen was thus named world champion already in the previous WC round, but clearly has no plans to rest on his laurels for the rest of the season.

Leclerc is driving his 100th Grand Prix race for Ferrari and was clearly delighted to have secured the best starting position.

– I am really happy to start on pole on Sunday!

Last year his Ferrari colleague Carlos Sainz had pole position – but Max Verstappen still won the race. Leclerc is without a Grand Prix win in 2023 – while he took three victories in the 2022 season.

Saturday at midnight Norwegian time there is a sprint race in the USA. Earlier on Saturday evening there was qualification for this race.

Here is the program:
