On March 26, the actor Jonathan Majorsinterpreter of Kang the Conqueror nell’Marvel Cinematic Universe, was arrested for domestic violence. The charges against her include crimes such as strangulation, assault and harassment against a 30-year-old woman who, after calling 911, was transported to hospital with “head and neck injuries”.
Although the actor has declared himself “completely innocent” and the investigations are still ongoing, it seems that Marvel Studios are already taking measures, starting to consider new interpreters for the villain recently appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
This was revealed by the insider Jeff Sneider in the podcast The Hot Mic (via The Direct), specifying that, although the Studios have not yet made any definitive decisions regarding the future of Jonathan Majors in the MCU, they would be moving to begin evaluating various options, including the possibility of replacing him with a new interpreter. According to the report, the most likely name for the part at the moment would be that of Damson Idrislead actor of the series Snowfall and, alongside Anthony Mackie, also of the film Outside the Wire.
Obviously, for the moment it is only speculation, given that Marvel Studios has not issued any official statement in relation to the domestic violence allegations involving Jonathan Majors. However, if the actor is found guilty and effectively kicked out of the MCU, it’s possible Damson Idris could become the first choice for the role of Kang.
Recall that Majors, in addition to appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and, before that, in the series Lokihas also recently debuted in Creed IIIplaying Damian “Dame” Anderson opposite star and director Michael B. Jordan.
