The American rocker Marilyn Manson issued a statement on February 1 indicating that the accusations of abuse of his ex-partner Evan Rachel Wood they are “distortions.”
Evan Rachel Wood revealed earlier the same day that Manson sexually abused her when they were both a couple. Manson and Wood went public in 2007 and broke up in 2010. They started their relationship when he was 38 and she was 19.
Although Wood had previously revealed that was a victim of abuse, kept the name of his perpetrator a secret until February 1, when he wrote a post on Instagram.
My abuser’s name is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horribly abused me for years. I was manipulated into submission
Wood said in his post.
No more living in fear of reprisals, slander or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and expose the many industries that have allowed him to do so, before he ruins more lives.

Hours later, Manson wrote a post on his Instagram account, refuting Wood’s accusations.
Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality.
said the singer.
My intimate relationships have always been totally consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others now choose to misrepresent the past, that’s the truth
Manson said.
Wood’s accusations had an immediate effect on the rocker’s career, since his label ceased its commercial relations with the singer.
In light of the disturbing accusations made today by Evan Rachel Wood and other women identifying Marilyn Manson as her abuser, Loma Vista will immediately stop promoting her current album. Due to this troubling new situation, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects.
