For its first issue (fall 2021), the journal is publishing a call for papers on the theme:

“Marguerite Duras and the Anglo-Saxon world

Perceived as “the French Hemingway”, Marguerite Duras, in her beginnings, was placed under the influence of American literature. Then, freed from this inspiration, she will introduce, in some of her titles or her novels, words belonging to the English language.

Ernesto is provided with brothers and of sisters ; in Emily L., the poet travels the world by boat with her Captain ; texts will be named Yes, maybe, India Song or The Night Ship.

In the Indian cycle, onomastics reveals the importance of English references. If some places are called U. Bridge or T. Beach, and if certain characters are named Jacques Hold, Michael Richardson or Peter Morgan, is it to relaunch the writing by confronting it with its others?

Aware of the part that the work gives to the English language, we propose to take an interest in Marguerite Duras’ relations with the Anglo-Saxon world both from the point of view of cultural references and of games with the strangeness of this foreign language.

Proposals for articles (a title and a short summary), in French or in English, should be sent to Françoise Barbé-Petit (franç[email protected]) before April 16, 2021 (journal response May 10, 2021).

The articles selected (between 20,000 and 40,000 characters) must be sent for the 1is October 2021.

For the sections, the proposed articles (between 20,000 and 40,000 characters), originals, in French or in English, should be sent to their manager before 1is October 2021.

(The articles will be evaluated by the file and section managers, then blindly by an expert)

For its first issue (Autumn 2021), the journal is calling for contributions on the theme of :

Marguerite Duras and The Anglo-Saxon World

Perceived as the “French Hemingway”, at first Marguerite Duras positioned her work as influenced by American Literature. Later, freed from this inspiration, she included in some of her novels and in their titles, words pertaining to the English language.

Please send proposals for articles in French or English (a title and an abstract) to Françoise Barbé-Petit ([email protected]) by 16th April 2021 (journal notification on 10th May 2021).

Selected articles (3300 to 6500 words) are to be sent by 1st October 2021.

For the five sections, articles (3300 to 6500 words) in French or English are to be submitted to the editor responsible for the appropriate section (see headings above) by 1st October 2021.

(The articles will be assessed by the editors responsible for their section and double-blind reviewed by experts in the field)
