Margot Robbie leads new ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’!

After five movies with Johnny Depp as the lead actor in the Pirates of the Caribbeanmovies the franchise follows a completely different course. The new protagonist is none other than Birds of Prey-ster Margot Robbie.

Via The Hollywood Reporter it becomes clear that the actress who broke through with her role in The Wolf of Wall Street the new face should be of Pirates of the Caribbean 6. The script will be written by Christina Hodson, known for her work before Birds of Prey in Bumblebee.

Completely new adventure!
The film is not a sequel to the previous films, but a completely new adventure. “An entirely original story with new characters under the title Pirates,” said The Hollywood Reporter. Depp will therefore not appear in the film. There is a chance that Robbie will play the character Redd, but nothing has been officially said about this.

The film is also separate from the other Pirates of the Caribbeanproject written by Chernobylcreator Ted Elliot. This is also seen as a reboot, possibly with a small cameo from Depp. Jerry Bruckheimer is of course the producer for both projects.
