The malaise in the Government for the March 17th Does not yield. This morning it was the Minister of Defense, Agustin Rossi, the one in charge of disqualifying in harsh terms the critical mobilization with the management of Alberto Fernandez. Branded as “violent” and “irresponsible” to the opposition sectors that supported the protest and he pointed especially to the former president Mauricio Macri.

“It was an act of political irresponsibility. A march clearly called by the most violent sectors from the discursive of the opposition“, he said, in statements to El Uncover Radio.

He yesterday’s flag it was the strongest protest since the start of the current administration. It included demonstrations in more than 100 cities and towns in the country, with the epicenter in the area of the Buenos Aires Obelisk. The attendees’ claims pointed to the extension of the quarantine by the coronavirus, judicial reform and insecurity, among other reasons.

The first official reaction It had come from the head of the Cabinet, Santiago Cafiero, who apologized to the doctors and nurses for the possible increase in Covid-19 which, in the opinion of the Government, will come after 17A. That was the main line of argument of the ruling party: hold those who protested responsible for the consequences that crowds could have on the health system.

Rossi sought to make a more political analysis of the situation. According to him, the objective of the mobilization was “to wear down the government” of Fernández. But he tried to minimize the effects of the act. “What happened yesterday had more of a caravan than a march. The Government is not measured by what the opposition says but by what the citizens say and the President has a high degree of acceptance even in the midst of this pandemic. It is about managing, otherwise we would dedicate ourselves to making marches and seeing who does the biggest march, “he said.

De Macri, whom he placed among the organizers of the march, said: “He has continued the march since his vacation in Europe.” He was referring to trip to France and Switzerland that began earlier this month with his wife and youngest daughter. “The mobilization cannot supplant the electoral result of 8 months ago.”

Rossi also questioned the opposition’s claim to withdraw the project of judicial reform presented in Congress, which is already being debated in the Senate that leads Cristina Kirchner. “The logical thing is that we present a project, if the opposition can reject it, it rejects it and if not, it is approved. This is how democracy works. Where have we seen that we have to withdraw a project that the opposition does not like? That is clearly authoritarian”. And he predicted that the Frente de Todos will get the votes to turn the bill into law.
