The President of the Republic had to be placed in safety by agents of the Personal Security Corps of the PSP, at the beginning of this Tuesday night, at the Albatroz hotel, in Cascais.
The head of state, who was circulating between the beaches of Conceição and Rainha, was taken back to the interior of the neighboring hotel Albatroz, for being close to a place where there were incidents at the same time. According to the digital newspaper “Cascais24”, which reported the news, there was an assault on an establishment on Rua Direita, which resulted in five injuries, three of which were police officers.
The incident occurred around 8 pm, in circumstances yet to be investigated. According to the local daily, a gang tried to steal an establishment exploited by Indian emigrants.
As a result of the clashes, the 47-year-old Indian shopkeeper had to be transported by Cascais Firefighters to the Cascais Hospital urgently. Three PSP officers were also injured, although only one of them needed to be assisted later in the same hospital emergency.
PSP ended up detaining three suspects, one of whom also needed to receive hospital treatment.
