Marc Marquez Future: Evaluating His Options Outside of Honda – Insights from Andrea Dovizioso

Andrea Dovizioso evaluate Marc Marquez needed to leave Honda to become competitive again. Even so, Dovizioso believes the right team for Marquez is not Ducati.

Marquez’s contract with Honda will expire at the end of the season MotoGP 2024. The future of the Spanish rider is starting to become speculation.

With Honda so far, Marquez has found it difficult to compete. The eight-time world champion crashed for the fourth time in a row in the race he participated in after crashing at the Italian MotoGP last weekend.

In the three races he participated in this season, Marquez always failed to finish. Even though in all three races, he was able to compete for the podium.

Dovizioso believes that Honda motorbikes are less competitive for Marquez if he wants to become world champion again.

“It’s hard to see Marc fighting for the championship with Honda, like Fabio is with Yamaha at the moment,” Dovizioso told MotoGP.com.

“Marc doesn’t have the bike to do that. At the moment the Japanese factory bikes are not as good as they used to be.”

“They work in a different way and have to change a lot of things in the structure to really improve like European manufacturers. To do this it takes years.”

If you want to target the world title, Marquez was advised to leave Honda. However, Dovizioso believes that Ducati will not be Marquez’s goal.

“It’s impossible. It’s impossible because Ducati doesn’t need Marc. I think the only way to win is to go to another team,” said Dovizioso.
