“Many corona infections at Tesla factory after much-discussed reopening” | Abroad

According to the newspaper, after the reopening of the electric vehicle factory, between May and December, there were approximately 450 corona infections, out of a workforce of approximately 10,000 employees.

The factory near San Francisco is one of the most important locations for Tesla. The Model S, Model X and Model 3 are being built. In addition, the factory is good for the production of most of the company’s auto parts.

At the time, Musk had strongly criticized the factory’s forced closure in the context of the fight against corona. He even threatened to move Tesla’s Palo Alto factory and California headquarters to other US states if authorities didn’t change their minds. The Tesla boss also announced a lawsuit against Alameda County, which Fremont, just south of San Francisco, is a part of. The eccentric billionaire labeled the lockdown measures as “fascist”, among other things.

Ultimately, the carmaker challenged the local authorities’ decision and all employees were called upon to return to work despite the ban.
