Many Broadway Theaters Will Stop Requiring Proof of Vaccination – NBC New York

In a statement, the Broadway League He noted that starting Sunday, owners and operators of Broadway’s 41 theaters will extend the mask requirement through at least the end of May, but many will no longer check vaccination status.

The announcement recommended that theater goers check individual theater websites for more information. An update on mask wearing policies beginning in June will be released in May.

Several shows, including “Macbeth,” “Plaza Suite” and “The Music Man,” have canceled performances in recent months after cast members tested positive for COVID-19.

In early March, New York City Mayor Eric Adams made the mask-wearing mandate optional in schools and said that closed places such as restaurants, theaters and gyms were no longer required to check vaccination status. Broadway theaters said they would check vaccination status through at least April 30.
