NEW YORK — A 37-year-old subway passenger nearly lost his life after allegedly asking fellow commuters to stop smoking marijuana on a Brooklyn train, New York City Police announced.
According to authorities, the victim was riding a southbound A-Line train in East New York around 2 a.m. when she apparently thought she smelled marijuana and asked two men, possibly teenagers, who she had been associated with. the smell to eliminate it.
One of the suspected smokers slashed the man’s leg before he and the other ran off, police added. The victim remained on the train until Shepherd Avenuewhere he was able to get off and the officers treated his wound.
The injury was so deep that they placed a tourniquet to stop the flow of blood, authorities said, and while at one point it appeared the subway passenger might not survive, New York Police said later Thursday that he is expected to get out. forward.
