Man who recorded himself kicking, pups slit throats guilty on social media pleadings: “I’m Cold Hearted

A 19-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday after posting a video of himself slapping and slitting his puppy’s throat.

Angel Ramos-Corrales faces up to seven years in prison for the federal allegations. The US Attorney’s Office brought charges against Ramos-Corrales for the crime of animal cruelty. Cruelty to animals is the act of deliberately and deliberately torturing animals, according to the Plea Agreement. This federal crime often includes filming the abuse and posting it on the internet.

“The defendant intentionally impaled his dog, a living non-human mammal, and seriously injured the dog in the defendant’s home in the town of Riverside.
Riverside, ”says the acknowledgment of guilt.

Ramos-Corrales posted videos of the abuse to his Instagram and Snapchat accounts on Feb. 13. In the videos, he was seen inflicting multiple injuries on his four to six month old Chihuahua, Canelo. The puppy suffered skull and rib fractures, causing the dog to fall face-forward in the video, US prosecutors said.

In another video, Ramos-Corrales slits the dog’s throat, causing Canelo to bleed profusely before passing out. Ramos-Corrales then stood over his pet, repeatedly kicked him, and said, “I’m cold-hearted,” according to the Press Enterprise. The plea agreement included a detailed list of profanities and phrases used by Ramos-Corrales that were also heard on the video. Viewers on social media called the Riverside Police Department in California to report the videos.

Riverside police responded to the complaints and drove to Ramos-Corrales’ house. When they got to the scene, Ramos-Corrales had blood stains on his clothes and lacerations on his hands. His roommate was at home at the time and had locked himself in his room after seeing Canelo curled up in a rug and hearing Ramos-Corrales screaming, prosecutors said.

Despite Ramos-Corrales’ recorded claims that he killed his pet, Canelo was still alive when police arrived and arrested him. The puppy was taken to a veterinarian where he was euthanized later that night due to the nature and severity of his injuries, US prosecutors said.

Ramos-Corrales had bought the puppy through Craigslist four months earlier. He said he couldn’t remember what he did to Canelo at the time of his arrest because he was drunk, according to the Press Enterprise. This is a brief summary.
