Man stabbed ex in front of daughter: OM demands 14 years in prison and TBS | Inland

On September 8 of last year, she was stabbed to death in front of their 1-year-old daughter by her ex-partner Jeffrey van den D., who could not accept that she left him.

On Thursday, the 32-year-old primary school teacher was heard in the court of Den Bosch demanding a prison sentence of fourteen years for murder, and TBS with compulsory treatment.

There was no denying it, it was teeming with eyewitnesses at the Ploossche Hof on that summer day last year. Jeffrey D. said in court that he only wanted to hug his baby daughter, but his eyes went black when Clarinda called 911. He stabbed her to death with thirty stabs, almost under her parents’ window, who heard their daughter screaming in agony. Her last words as she pushed the pram away: “Take care of my child.”

It was no surprise that Clarinda called 911. She had already dealt with Jeffrey van den D.’s aggression before. He once stabbed her in the neck with a key. Police found a diary in Clarinda’s home after her death.

Goodbye to dream

“The day I left I said goodbye to my dream. You shouldn’t have hit me or prevented me from comforting our daughter. I’ve seen a side of you that I didn’t know. I’ve been so scared.”

Jeffrey van den D. was jealous and possessive, Clarinda’s diary showed. She wasn’t allowed to wear red lipstick, had to affirm her love for him every twenty minutes, and he wants to control how my work is going, while he isn’t about it. He doesn’t feel respected because I’m living my life.”

After the death of her only sister, her sister Anne-Marije found a note on which she had written her wishes. ,,Do not hit. Space to exercise. Shop. Meeting friends. To travel”. For Clarinda, all that had become out of reach.

Jeffrey van den D. also kept diaries. They are full of anger. “I’m angry, I want to hurt her. I feel like shit, misunderstood. Incomplete.” In an app to Clarinda, he wrote: “If you leave me, I am the Godfather. Then we won’t go to court. Then I’ll work it out myself.”

Relationship over

On September 8, Clarinda sent him a message saying that the relationship was really over. “It’s time to accept that.” Then she left with her daughter to her parents. Jeffrey van den D. found an empty house. “It was like a grenade exploded in my head.”

He took a knife from the kitchen drawer and drove to Den Bosch. According to the public prosecutor, he decided at that time to kill Clarinda, but lawyer Arthur van der Biezen says that Jeffrey van den D. could no longer think clearly at that moment, and that he acted on an emotional impulse.

Behavioral experts say that Jeffrey van den D. has diminished responsibility. He suffers from a form of autism, with narcissistic and borderline traits.

According to sister Anne-Marije, it is high time that it was investigated why so many abuses occur. Women’s freedom must be discussed. Organizing society accordingly means saying goodbye to the patriarchal ideal that it still revolves around.” Judgment June 2.
