A woman is molested on the train from Denzlingen to Freiburg. But witnesses show civil courage – and the man is put by the police. The officials praise the behavior of the passengers.
On Saturday afternoon, a 35-year-old man is said to have addressed a 32-year-old on the regional train in a suggestive manner. The two were traveling from Denzlingen towards Freiburg.
According to the police report, the woman is said to have asked the man to leave her alone. Thereupon the man is said to have spat in her face, threatened her and insulted her.
A 47-year-old, who became aware of the incident, then stood protectively between the man and the victim. He engaged the 35-year-old in a conversation. Another traveler informed the police. The 35-year-old was found by a patrol of the federal police when the train arrived at Freiburg main station. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the Latvian citizens, among other things, for threats and insults.
In critical situations, it is important to look instead of going away, the police said. Because everyone, regardless of age, gender, size or body structure, can provide help in critical situations without endangering themselves.
