A 59-year-old man from Hărău commune, Hunedoara county, died on Wednesday, electrocuted, while cutting the grass with an electric scythe. He was resuscitated for almost 80 minutes, but in the end the doctors declared him dead.
“A 59-year-old man, from Hărău commune, died this afternoon, following a cardiorespiratory arrest due to electrocution. The man was using an electric scythe (trimmer) to cut the grass in the yard of his house. At some point he got electrocuted, most likely from the power cord of the trimmer, and fell down. The wife immediately called the 112 dispatcher and, until the arrival of the SMURD crew from Simeria and the SAJ ambulance, she tried to give him first aid, together with a neighbor,” ISU Hunedoara reported on Wednesday evening. The SMURD helicopter from Caransebeş was also requested there, which arrived in 20 minutes, with a first aid crew and a doctor. “Unfortunately, despite the efforts made by the medical staff for almost 80 minutes, the man could no longer be resuscitated and was declared dead,” stated ISU Hunedoara.
