“Man finds soul mate on Twitter: A viral Malaysian love story”

Who would have thought that starting with just one post on Twitter praying to get a partner, a man actually met his soul mate at the right time. His prayer became real, he really got his soul mate.

The meeting and introduction of this unexpected couple became the spotlight of netizens on social media. Mohd Firdaus Fadzil (29 years) uploaded his story of finding a mate after writing his prayers and hopes on Twitter. The prayer upload was re-uploaded to the Twitter account @TwtJodohMY.

“Just love the Hari Raya itself. Hopefully next year both of us hahaha have a happy Hari Raya. Sorry to be born and inner heart. People say the Hari Raya single mention @TwtJodohMY #hitampremium,” wrote the man’s tweet on 1 Syawal last year.

Sharing the story with Mstar, Nur Nabila Izzati said she and the husband who wrote the tweet officially married on March 18, 2023. Their wedding was held one week before Ramadan.

The woman who is familiarly called Abel said that she received many reactions from netizens in Direct Messages (DM) on the second day of Eid. Netizens are curious about her husband’s upload.

“Apparently my friend tagged my Twitter account to the Tweet. At first, I didn’t have any feelings, I didn’t respond, it was like selling hard. He (now husband) DMed me first. At that time I was still single but had not thought about looking for a future husband. But after one month, I DMed him myself,” he said.

According to the 30-year-old woman, she also wrote on Twitter wanting to find a partner three times in two years. But at that time there was no man who felt suitable.

“I’m not picky, but maybe it doesn’t match the criteria I’m looking for. Taller than me, doesn’t smoke and lives nearby,” said Abel.

This woman, who is from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, said she worked up the courage to DM her husband after seeing a post on Instagram Story, which showed a photo with a woman.

“It seems he came out with a woman, remember he already has someone. Next on Instagram Story he said that the woman was his younger sister, I didn’t think long and continued to DM,” he explained.

Abel frankly wanted to be his friend but he was afraid to let go and gave up hope. “Maybe it was also God who moved my heart to look for someone serious,” said Abel.

Not only is he taller than him and doesn’t smoke, Fadzil also lives next door to Abel in Penang. “The first time (first date) was also meeting his parents at a brother’s wedding. He is attractive, patient and very sweet, until now he always surprises me,” said Abel.

“As if I couldn’t believe it, now I’m married. Before this, my mother told me to find a mate because I was already 30 years old,” he explained.

Abel and Fadzil held an engagement ceremony on January 22, 2023, before getting married two months later. Abel added that she and her husband, who is from Kodiang, Kedah, Malaysia, initially planned to get married after Hari Raya in May or June 2023.

“But when you think about it, it’s better to marry earlier. Hari Raya as husband and wife. Thank God, our affairs are made easy. Starting from Twitter, Alhamdulillah this Hari Raya is in my husband’s village,” he said.
