Donald Trump Found Guilty of Attempted Rape: Ordered to Pay $5 Million in Damages

The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, has been found guilty by a jury in the 1996 case of attempted rape of Elle writer and journalist Jean Carroll. This is reported CNN.

He now has to pay Carroll $5 million in damages: $2 million as part of the settlement of the attempted rape lawsuit and another $3 million for defamation and damage to her reputation, when Trump denied his guilt.

The ex-president called the court’s verdict “a disgrace and the greatest witch hunt”.

REFERENCE. In June 2019, Carroll accused Trump of raping her, which she said took place in the dressing room of Manhattan’s Bergdorf Goodman store in 1996. She wrote about this in one of the magazines and her book.
Hearings in the case began only in April 2023. Trump denied the allegations, dropped his defense, and chose not to testify.

  • Trump could become the first head of the White House in history to face criminal charges after a grand jury in Manhattan charged him with more than 30 counts of business fraud.
