Man detained for sexual intercourse with animals

The man was arrested by police Thursday in what is termed a very serious case.

Police Attorney Åge Sliper Midling in the Trøndelag Police District confirms that a man has been arrested, charged and remanded in custody in the case.

– He is suspected of violating the Animal Welfare Act. Beyond that, I can’t say that much right now. We are in the initial phase of the investigation, says the police lawyer.

The man’s defender, lawyer Erlend Hjulstad Nilsen, confirms that his client has acknowledged sexual intercourse with animals.

– He has given an explanation to the police and has long acknowledged what he is aiming for, says Nilsen.

Witnesses Trønder-Avisa
has been in contact with, observed this weekend that there were on-site investigations in an area near the accused’s home.

Acting Investigator Hilde Mari Musum at the Levanger and Verdal sheriff’s office says local police have only assisted with the arrest and the on-site investigation.

– It is the environmental and eco team in the Trøndelag police district that is investigating this case, says Musum.
