Bola.net – Manchester City have just had an incredibly difficult and exhausting week. They fought twice Atletico Madrid with the match against Liverpool in between.
Thursday (14/4/2022), Man City held Atletico to a 0-0 draw in the 2021/22 Champions League quarter-final second leg duel at the Wanda Metropolitano. This result was enough for Man City, who previously won 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

The problem is, despite qualifying for the Champions League, Man City must pay a heavy price for this success. The players are clearly exhausted, not to mention the injured ones like Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker.
This weekend, Saturday (16/4/2022) tomorrow, Man City will challenge Liverpool in the FA Cup semifinals. For Guardiola, his team is in big trouble.

Big problem, but can be celebrated
In less than two weeks, Man City played against Atletico twice and against Liverpool twice. The duel at the Wanda Metropolitano yesterday really drained Man City’s energy. So, they might have a hard time against Liverpool this weekend.
“We are in big trouble. We must not forget that we played three days ago, a tough game against Liverpool. Then we came here [Wanda Metropolitano] and there are a lot of injured players,” said Guardiola.
“I don’t know what will happen in the next few weeks, but today we can celebrate. This is the third time in Man City’s history that we have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.”

Forced to play defensively
The match at the Wanda Metropolitano yesterday really drained Man City’s players. Atletico applied intense pressure throughout the match. Man City were even forced to survive.
“They kept pressing us. Atletico played incredible in the second half, while we forgot to play. We are in big trouble, they have a chance to score goals,” continued Guardiola.
“We defended to the best of our ability. We had to adapt. We couldn’t have the ball and we kept feeling the pressure.”
“We reached the semi-finals and this is a great achievement for the club.”
