Man (30) attacks officer when arrested: bystanders come to the rescue | Inland

The police officer was in the building at the Heesterpoort on Monday morning for her work. The 30-year-old man had entered the building just before that, but was asked to leave the building because he did not have an appointment.

The man insulted the officer and spat on the doormat at the exit. The officer then told him outside that he was being arrested for insulting. The man then attacked the officer. She suffered minor injuries. The suspect was eventually overpowered with the help of two bystanders.

The police officer has reported insult, assault or attempted serious assault and recalcitrance. The suspect is being held for further investigation.
