Despite the health crisis plaguing everyday life, the Malestroit book fair was full. Almost all the authors are present this Sunday at the village hall and in particular a few prestigious guests. Younn Locard, is the guest of honor of this 2020 edition, whose album Liberté won the Fauve d’Or at the Angoulême comics festival. His talents as a designer are also the joy of visitors to the show. But there was also a “virtual” guest physically absent but present in everyone’s mind in the person of Raymond Poulidor. This great cycling champion, who died last year was the guest of honor at this show in 2018, which he marked with his personality. In his speech, Bruno Gicquello paid tribute to him, especially since he had at his side two other guests, historical names of the Tour de France, namely Daniel Pautrat, former voice of the Tour, sponsor of the show which published a book precisely dedicated to Raymond Poulidor and Jean-Paul Ollivier, this former journalist who introduced a whole generation to the beauty of the most remote villages in France. The latter has published a book devoted to General de Gaulle which is due out in booksellers on October 7. It should have been presented in preview at Malestroit, but a little publisher muddle thwarted this project. These three exceptional guests were honored by the mayor who presented the city medal to Daniel Pautrat, the city’s gold coat of arms to Younn Locard and the keys of the city to Jean-Paul Ollivier …

The book fair continues this Sunday until 6 p.m. at the Malestroit village hall. Find the program by clicking here
