FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid both had to deal with a setback on the injury front. Where the Catalans report that Ousmane Dembélé has had a relapse, the Madrilenians have to miss Álvaro Morata for the time being.
The Spanish striker suffered a muscle injury in the derby against Real Madrid on Saturday. He fell out after fifty minutes against his old club. For Morata, a race against the clock is now waiting to be fit for the meeting with Liverpool in the eighth final in the Champions League on February 18. That is hard for coach Diego Simeone, as Atlético has been struggling to score goals all season and Morata is club top scorer with seven goals.
What makes Morata’s injury doubly sour is the fact that Diego Costa and João Félix are currently injured. The flush in the front is therefore thin. Atlético has set its hopes on Europe this season, as the Simeone team is only sixth in the Primera Division and was surprised by Cultural Leonesa in the Copa del Rey at the end of January.

Also Barcelona cannot yet have an attacker. Dembélé has had a relapse on training on Monday, the Catalans report. The Spanish champion must also miss Luis Suárez. Barça wanted to strengthen himself with a new attacker during the winter break, but failed despite fierce attempts.
Dembélé has been on the sidelines with a hamstring injury since the end of November. It is already the third injury of the season for the 22-year-old attacker. According to AS he has to watch for another two weeks. He therefore threatens a lack of rhythm for the Champions League match with Napoli on 25 February and El Clásico against Real Madrid on 1 March.
