Major Fire in Coevorden Center: Fire Brigade Signals Fire Contained, No Injuries Reported

The fire brigade has given the signal for the major fire in the center of Coevorden. This means that the fire can no longer spread.

The blazing fire broke out just before two o’clock this afternoon in a house above a shop in Friesestraat. The Drenthe Safety Region reports that the fire brigade was able to prevent the fire from spreading. No one was hurt.

Fire brigade stations from Coevorden, Schoonebeek, Hoogeveen, Emmen, De Wijk and Zwinderen helped extinguish the fire. The city center was closed for some time.

The emergency services warned of smoke and advised to keep windows and doors in the area closed.
