Magnet fishermen have fished an explosive in The Hague. The police report that it is a grenade from the Second World War.
The explosive was removed from the water this afternoon at the Wijndaelersingel in The Hague. The magnet fishermen alerted the police about their find, after which the area was cordoned off as a precaution.
The Explosives Ordnance Disposal Department has secured the grenade. The explosive will be detonated elsewhere, writes Broadcaster West. The Wijndaelersingel has now been released again.
