MagSafe charger from Japanese manufacturer
Recently we wrote about the return from MagSafe: the magnetic connection would return in the form of cases and chargers. There now seems to be the first tangible proof to be found for. The magnet charger was made by the Japanese company MPOW and was discovered by Macotakara.
Cases for the iPhone 12 have already surfaced in abundance. Often they are made from molds, which circulate among manufacturers to make well-fitting accessories. However, this charger is something we haven’t seen before. The wireless charger is equipped with a magnet, which ensures that the iPhone is always located correctly. At the Apple Watch A magnet has been used for good positioning for a long time.
The company is talking about a ring-shaped magnet, which is exactly in line with a similar mechanism in the iPhone 12. As a result, both parts can fit closely together. This should lead to better performance while charging. The accessory only works on the latest iPhones, not on other models. MPOW has equipped the charger with a USB-C connection.
Apple will announce the iPhone 12 later today. There were already rumors that the MagSafe brand name would be used, but we did not yet know what that would look like. Apple itself would like to release two magnetic chargers for the iPhone, called MagSafe Charger and MagSafe Duo Charger. The magnetic rings were also visible in diagrams and cases.
Alternative to AirPower?
The MagSafe Duo Charger could be an alternative to the failed one AirPower, but with a completely different approach. At the AirPower-charging mat was meant that you could place your devices freely on the shelf. With this MagSafe solution, a permanent place was chosen. With the also leaked MagSafe Magnetic Case, you might be able to replace your existing iPhones suitable for this new charger.
