Maduro regretted the physical departure of the leader of the Psuv Darío Vivas

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, sent his condolences to the family of the Head of Government of the Capital District, Darío Vivas; who died this Thursday from complications of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

«An immense sadness fills our hearts for the physical departure of a great brother from life, Darío Vivas. A foolproof revolutionary who was in charge of a thousand battles and struggles alongside the people. A big hug to your family and friends. # HastaLaVictoriaSiempreDarío », wrote the Venezuelan head of state in his account on the social network Twitter.

For her part, the first combatant, Cilia Flores, expressed an emotional message to whoever was a comrade in the fight against the Legislative Power «Dear friend and“ compa ”of so many struggles: in the AN, in the PSUV, in the Constituent Assembly, in the streets, in the towns; Darío, the revolutionary and great mobilizer, your example of Loyalty, tireless work and honesty will be our path. Likewise, the mayor of Caracas, Erika Farías, said: «To say Darío is to speak of creativity, tireless work, a military man with the strength of example, a voice that does not fade, is always present as are those who know how to leave traces indelible ”.

Since the arrival of the pandemic in Venezuela, Vivas – as head of the Capital District Government – was in the front line of the fight to stop the spread of the virus.

Vivas, who served as Vice President of Organization and Mobilization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), was born in Caracas on June 12, 1950.

He held the position as Head of the Government of the GDC, since January 29, 2020, a task entrusted by the National President.

In addition, he was elected to the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) in 2017 by the Capital District.

Also, he served as vice president of the World Inter-Parliamentary Union in 2015 and currently, he serves as president of the ANTV channel.
