Dakar, August 5 (APS) – The President of the Republic on Wednesday denounced “the resurgence of acts of delinquency and vandalism” in buildings and public spaces, at the same time as he asked the government to ensure “security “of these places.
“The Head of State, referring to the security and preservation of public spaces and buildings, condemned the upsurge in acts of delinquency and vandalism”, reads the press release from the Council of Ministers.
According to the text, Macky Sall considers that the authors of such acts “must be punished in an exemplary manner, in accordance with the law”.
“He (…) asked the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of the Armed Forces to strengthen the security of buildings and public buildings,” added the statement from the Council of Ministers.
The same source affirms that “the President of the Republic (…) invited the Minister of the Interior to put in place a preventive strategy to fight against delinquency and the anarchic occupation of the public highway”.
