JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – After sliding in Thailand on July 9 and in Vietnam on August 5, now Corolla Cross officially launched in Indonesia. The increasing demand in the SUV segment, makes the Corolla continue to evolve to adjust to the needs of the times.
Corolla Cross offers a sense of comfortable driving, spacious cabin space, and is designed to be sturdy like most SUVs.
Carrying the same TNGA-C platform as the Corolla Altis or C-HR, Corolla Cross is available in two variants, namely gasoline and hybrid.

For the gasoline variant, it carries a 1,800 cc 2ZR-FBE engine with 140 ps and 177 Nm of torque. This engine is combined with CVT automatic transmission.
As for the hybrid variant using the 1,800 cc 2ZR-FXE unit with 98 ps and 142 Nm of torque. This engine is combined with an electric motor with a power of 72 ps and torque of 163 Nm.
Speaking of price, from the official website Corolla Cross is valued at Rp. 457.8 million for the type of gasoline and Rp. 497.8 million for the hybrid type.

Toyota Corolla Cross-
Anton Jimmi Suwandy, Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor, said it was trying to answer the needs of SUVs in Indonesia by launching the Corolla Cross.
“Yes indeed because of the current trend of SUVs, because demand has always existed and consumers have asked. Most want a comfortable handling like a sedan, but looks typical of an SUV, “said Anton, in the video launching (6/8/2020).
Anton added, even though the SUV is growing. But the biggest market in Indonesia is still in the MPV segment.

Toyota Corolla Cross-
“The SUV market has increased tremendously, compared to 2014, in 2019 yesterday it had increased 65 percent. With the market composition from the previous 9 percent, to 17 percent, “he said.
“You could say this is the cheapest Toyota hybrid line-up, for a hybrid variant that costs Rp. 497 million, while another one has gasoline for Rp. 457 million,” Anton said.
