A complaint was lodged by the young man’s family on Sunday 23 August at the Fontaines-sur-Saône (Rhône) gendarmerie. Two days earlier, in the evening in Lyon, the 17-year-old son was beaten up near a supermarket on Place Bellecour, in the city center, according to his brother.

According to the information site LyonMag, which revealed the case Monday, August 24, the teenager went to the hospital accompanied by a relative. Asked by AFP, an official of the supermarket present the evening of the attack replied that he had only learned the facts on Monday, for lack of seeing anything at the time.
