Luko and Netatmo launch an offer dedicated to protecting your home

Starting this weekend, the holiday departure period begins. This moment of relaxation is also unfortunately synonymous with an increase in burglaries in France. The French are well aware of the problem, but we note that 45% of them declare that they do not know the right reflexes to adopt before leaving their home. The police and the gendarmerie will be mobilized as every year within the framework of the operation Tranquillité vacances which allows to have his home monitored by the police.

Insurers are increasingly interested in connected objects

Technological solutions also exist and this is the case, for example, with intelligent video alarm systems developed by the three-color company Netatmo. The latter has just entered into a partnership with the neo-insurer Luko. Both therefore offer a special offer to their customers. Users equipped with a Netatmo system can benefit from a 10% monthly reduction on Luko home insurance. In the event of burglary, the excess will also be abandoned. It should also be noted that this promotion concerns all intelligent video alarm systems, including older models.

As a reminder, the device developed by Netatmo consists of an indoor camera, a siren and an opening detector. The camera, equipped with facial recognition technology, is able to distinguish between a stranger, a loved one, or a harmless movement. The detectors are in turn capable of picking up any suspicious movement or vibration on doors and windows.

Luko, launched in May 2018, offers online home insurance. To date, 20,000 customers have already been tempted. The startup’s philosophy is to change the insurance model to anticipate problems by focusing on prevention. This partnership also fits very well into this model. It is in this sense that Raphaël Vullierme, co-founder and president of the company, declared: ” At Luko, we want to build home insurance that warns before it heals. This is why we have set up this partnership with Netatmo, leader in the smart home. Customers who take care of their home and do everything to protect it are rewarded and pay the right price. »

As our colleagues from the Figaro, this agreement also illustrates a fairly heavy trend in the insurance sector, where companies are increasingly interested in connected objects to better understand the uses of their subscribers and better prevent accidents.
