President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko reacted to the offer of French President Emmanuel Macron to become a “mediator” in negotiations between the government and the opposition in the republic.
“Let me first come, I’ll be an intermediary between the“ yellow vests ”and Macron. Oh, what a situation, God forbid – they don’t see both terror and the“ yellow vests, ”Lukashenka said sarcastically.
In addition, Lukashenka stressed that US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, whom he called “a great friend of the Belarusian people,” recently commented on the situation in Belarus. In this regard, Lukashenka called on Western countries to first sort out their problems. He also recalled that in Germany “demonstrations cannot deal with the coronavirus.”
According to Lukashenka, all these statements about Belarus became a convenient opportunity to “divert attention from our problems and shift it to the other side,” transfers Telegram channel “Pool of the First”.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Belarus should independently organize a dialogue between the authorities, as well as the opposition and civil society. However, the European Union is ready to accompany this process, “if Belarus agrees to his mediation.”
