Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia– The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut B. Pandjaitan, as well as the Coordinator for the Enforcement of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) highlighted the Health Minister’s report regarding the data on the number of COVID-19 patients that was odd for the East Java region.
“There is nothing to be ashamed of, just provide the data as it is so that we can improve it. So that later the Minister of Health can make a more precise plan,” said Coordinating Minister Luhut, at the Meeting on Vaccination Reports, Implementation of Mobility Restrictions, Optimization of TNI Facilities for Isolation and Basic Foods held virtually Friday (9/7/20210).
On the same occasion, he stressed to the Pangdam and Polda to ensure that no people in their respective areas do not have food.
“I asked the Kapolda and Pangdam to do a lot of patrols in the outskirts. Vaccinations can then go directly there, in the outskirts,” said Coordinating Minister Luhut. According to him, in July 2021, there will be an additional 46 million vaccines. These additions can be directed to suburban or slum areas that do not have access to health facilities.
“I want a suburban area or a slum area, we’ll pick up the ball for vaccines,” he said. The provision of vaccines in these marginal areas, according to Coordinating Minister Luhut, needs to be carried out simultaneously with the provision of rice assistance which is currently being prepared.
Coordinating Minister Luhut then emphasized that the state should be present among the people through targeted donations to those in need. Coordinating Minister Luhut gave directions to the TNI/Polri to find marginal locations in each region and ensure the availability of food (rice).
“Once again, micro targeted. Vaccines, drugs, and social assistance in the form of rice for those in rural areas must be implemented, lest they cannot eat,” concluded Coordinating Minister Luhut.
