“Even if they are not present in the courtroom, I want to greet Costel Alexe and Mihai Chirica as well. I am convinced that they are innocent and I am looking forward to the court to do them justice and show them the truth.” said PNL leader Ludovic Orban.
The PNL mayor of Iaşi Mihai Chirica is targeted in several cases, one of the investigations of the DNA prosecutors referring to the way in which an exchange of lands was made near the Eternitatea cemetery in Iaşi.
At the Iaşi City Hall, searches were carried out by DIICOT, in April, in another case regarding the concession of a land of the municipality.
In this case, Mayor Mihai Chirica is being prosecuted, along with 14 other people. Also, Mihai Chirica was sent to court in another DNA case aimed at the purchase of cars by the City Hall of Iasi.
The president of the Iaşi County Council, the former Minister of Environment, Costel Alexe, is being investigated in a case in which he is accused of taking bribes and inciting embezzlement.
