Mass brawl after being insulted in the snack bar

Gifhorn (dpa / lni) – In Gifhorn, about 30 people were involved in a fight on Saturday. Trigger of the tangible dispute: According to the police, a woman was insulted in a snack bar that afternoon. A family member then confronted the perpetrator. Although two police officers were on site, about 20 people from both parties gathered in front of the snack bar. A total of around 30 of them would then have participated in the fight – also with wooden batons. “The confrontation could only be ended with the involvement of several officials,” said the police in the evening.
Several people were injured but had refused medical care. “This was followed by searches of the residential and business premises of both parties,” said the police. Means of crime were secured. Five people involved were therefore taken into custody and several criminal proceedings were initiated.
