Naomi Broomes was remanded in custody after being accused of murder as a suspect of having hit Shakira Serrano with her car several times in an alleged fight for the love of a man in Brooklyn (NYC)
Serrano had been arguing with her boyfriend before the incidentaccording to a surveillance video released by Daily News. Broomes (33) intentionally killed her, fled and did not report the incident, prosecutors said, and a Brooklyn Criminal Court judge ordered his arrest yesterday, two weeks after the crime that occurred on January 11 outside the Pink Houses public housing complex ( NYCHA) in East New York.

The young victim was 24 years old. A criminal complaint described the vicious attack that happened outside where both women lived. Apparently Broomes He repeatedly tried to run her over and once she fell to the ground he drove his vehicle “over Serrano’s entire body.” according to witnesses and recordings cited in the complaint.
After Broomes he left while the victim was lying on the ground, according to the complaint. Serrano suffered a “serious head and body trauma” and was taken to Brookdale University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Unidentified boyfriend released after being questioned by police and has not been charged with any crime.
The details of the relationship between the two women are still unclear, not even to the victim’s own family, according to previous statements. “She never really expressed their relationship.” when the couple visited his house he said his mother María Serrano, 73 years old. “I want them to turn themselves in and for them all to go to jail.”… They killed my daughter and I want them in jail… She was a good and honest girl. In a similar case, just a day earlier, a 68-year-old immigrant grandfather was beaten to death after a minor crash in Queens. In August, Fausto Rodríguez, a 40-year-old Dominican father, was shot and killed when a crash turned violent on the Cross Bronx Expressway, leaving four children orphaned.
In September, an aspiring model teacher died days after being shot in the head outside the Home Depot in Brooklyn, NY, in an apparent fight over a parking spot.
In June Javier Muñoz (29) and Joshua Rivera (22) were arrested on suspicion of having killed Jeremy Cancel (34) in a street fight following a minor collision between cars, at the close of Puerto Rico Day in New York.
